Jenny and Betty, Thanks for that and yes my other half did drive also when we got near to Salisbury, I said last time we were here there was a Buzzard perched on that tree then that is when I spotted the two Buzzards in flight circling the tree. My wife did spot the Red Kite though in fact we thought that we might go down to Andover to the Hawk Conservancy to see the birds of prey.
Mick

So good to hear that you went out Mick and you enjoyed yourself – you must do it more often !!!!! Presume your other half was driving or should I say better half ???? Seeing buzzards and a red kite, that definitely proves you must go out more !

Betty I have already responded to you on FB ! Wow the 70th Afternoon Tea birthday celebrations was lovely and we were actually able to stay outside in the garden apart from a few spots of rain – typical English summer !

My tooth has started playing up again and unfortunately have to have the four tooth bridge removed which sadly my Dentist will not do as because of the medication I am on there could be problems with bleeding so he has written to Guy’s Hospital to see if they can help ! and am on more penicillin yet again !

Expecting another addition to the family our daughter rang last night to tell us the good news !!!! they have bought a Labradoodle puppy (apricot colour) and calling her Mabel ! She is only 5 weeks old so they are collecting her at the end of August ! Poor Daisy their cat will wonder what has hit her when she arrives ! Andrea & Kate are both asthmatic and the Labradoodle’s do not molt – yeh we will wait and see ! Kate is taking a month off work to settle her in and then they have someone who will train and look after her when they are at work !

Not much going on with the webcams this morning, all looking very quiet ! and it will be even more so when the Canada Geese leave the lake !

Elsie hope that you and Harold enjoyed the wedding last weekend ?

Karen how are you doing weaning off your medication, had any sleep yet ????

Have a good day everyone !

Jenny x

The Goslings took their first flight this evening. Well 3 of them did. They made to the small Lake with the Goose and Gander but the small Lake is to small for them to get enough flight to get air born and needed to be shown back to the main Lake.

Just popped down to the New Forest today and also stopped at the reptile centre and managed to see most of our snakes and lizards but not the slow worm or frogs and toads. Took some photos of fallow deer from a stand at the top of the field. Took the long scenic way through Salisbury along miles of straight Roman roads. Also saw two Buzzards together just outside Salisbury and a Red Kite near home on the edge of a village called Hartley Witney. First time I have been out for a day out for a couple of years so really enjoyed it.
Mick

Thank you Karen for your funny story and for the kind thoughts. My appointment was mixed news today. The gynecologist said he doesn’t think it is cancer but he cannot be sure as the ultrasound and the MRI gave some conflicting results and when he examined me he said the left ovary was more enlarged than he expected and it was painful.. He would normally do the surgery but because of all my other symptoms he thinks it will make them worse. He was very sweet and thorough and he referring me to a gynecologist/oncologist at The Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto as it is our best cancer hospital. I did the tumor marker 125 test today also. They have sent the referral off today so now a wait and see for this appointment.
Karen I was thinking of you the other night as I had one of the night where I didn’t sleep at all and the next night slept 2.30am -6am and then was wide awake. I did however sleep normally last night.
I really wish they will fund this medication for you so that you can feel better. Hopefully you will hear soon.
Jenny enjoy your tea party and hopefully the weather forecast will change. Sound like the fete was a lot of un I am jealous.
I spoke to my sister again today as the Dr I saw said it was very unlikely she had ovarian cancer as she would not be here 10 years later as the survival rate is 15% at 3 years. Today she said it was a tumor (which means that it was very likely benign but she did have endometrial cancer Grade 1). Which is much better news. Elsie glad that Harold is coming along and that the pacemaker is doing it’s job and Mick hope you are OK.
Betty Canada.

Well Karen you might not be well but you really did make me laugh about you and Jayden !I I could just picture the scene especially of you running after him with him holding his ‘John Wiily’ You two must have made a very funny sight to the locals outside the pub – just like a comedy act the pair of you !!! I wish I could have seen you both ! but did he do his wee in the end against the tree ???? I wonder if your Dr has had his call from your Consultant yet ? I really do hope that he has and asks you to make an appointment to go and see him !

Either Mabel or Toy Boy are resting on the nest this morning and all it looking very quiet on the webcams apart from the fact that I saw what looked like one of Mr Farmer’s white doves come out of the owl box in the barn !

On Saturday it is one of our friends ’70’ birthday and her daughter is having a ‘Cream Tea’ party for her in the afternoon as she has a large house in the country & large garden, (she had breast cancer five years ago and now doesn’t drink alcohol as a result) so hence the Cream Tea party ! The weather this week has been so lovely and warm and the forecast for Friday night/Saturday all day is rain – oh dear what a great shame and it’s the only day that I am actually wearing one of my posh outfits with high heeled sandles as I am usually in jeans etc since I retired !

Are the goslings still in one piece Mr Farmer and any signs of them leaving the lake yet ? Did you have any swallows nesting this year ?

Have a good day everyone

Jenny x

We have only heard the Barn Owl from a distance down the Valley this year. Until last night at 11pm when we let the dogs out before going to bed when we heard two calling to each other from the Barn area. I put the camera onto the Barn Owl nest box that Matt from the Barn Owl trust put up a few years back and there was an Owl on the box shelf. It entered the box and within a minute or two another Owl landed on the nest box and also entered the box. Shortly after one came out from the box. We watched for half an hour before going to bed, leaving one Owl still in the box.

Don’t know that they are going to nest in the box. it could also be that they have already nested. A while back a post on the forum saw an Owl in the Barn. Or it may just be a visit. Unfortunately I cant put a camera in the box. It is not allowed in case it disturbs the Owls. What ever its good to know they know where the box is. I will fit a camera over the winter. I will start showing the Owl box on Cam 2 of a night time and Cam 3 in the day from a distance.

Mr F just a thought is there anyway you could get a Camera in the box when these finish with it for the next lot as they don’t go out till night it would be Brilliant to have Denbury Owls on cam I might be wrong but I remember there being some let free on your farm a bit back Mr F by who I have forgotten memory is so bad these days if I am right I wonder if its these and they are old enough to breed… Karen Stoke

We have Barn Owls using our nest box on webcam 1. Two Barn Owls went into the box tonight.

Jenny I went on my own Tina was going to take me Jordan’s Mum but she is ill her self so I got a taxi I tell you this if he doesn’t give the go ahead for this next line of drugs I will go like RUMPLESTILLSKIN!! on him so he will need to take them…. I have been very patient with him for almost 2 years allowing him to give me pills when I told him I was not for this happy pill as I have tried them before but no he knows best doesn`t he so Doctor I eagerly await word from you…. But I broke down crying to the specialist god what a release tears are I have always been able to cry at the drop of a hat thankfully because I truly believe its saved me in the past the release I haven’t cried for what seems like a life time ago I didn’t cry for Arthur just couldn’t it was horrible I am in the twilight zone at the moment….and as for my brain to relax I need a transplant hahahah I and Tina have a Job getting Jayden to go home from here god he has just had the Mother of all tantrums I have had t grab him and wrestle him in the car you would think we were hurting him Nan Nan, Nan, Nan I have just had to run him across the Village green we called in the shop in our village and he said Nan I need a wee I lifted him over the wall and told him to piddle up the tree as no one could see him then oh god he took off across the green to another tree lol all he was wearing was a zip up top holding on to his man hood running to this tree well the village pub has loads of locals sitting out this weather people walking the dogs and me running like the wind at my age I don’t know how I do it a giggling 3 year holding his little grub lol and he cant half shift me chasing him holding his Shorts shouting for him to stop and saying Jayden please Nanny is to old to run he just giggles more …. but I adore him and him me….

Betty I feel quite humble with my probs compared to yours try not to worry they are good today the medical profession. Plus you have got Positive energy coming from me you are a fighter I know you are so you will be good I promise, xx

Mick, hope you go on ok with your eye Lad isn’t it marvellous what they can do nowadays so don’t worry just have a stiff drink lol .
Well I will check in soon take care every one Karen Stoke

Karen I so understand what it is like for you. There are night s when II have to get up and stay up, like last night. Went to lay down after lunch today and slept for hours. Sleep just won’t come to me at all some nights and it wears you out. Wouldn’t mind if I could sleep in the arm chair, but seeing rthat I can’t get out of it I have o stay in my wheelchair. Mick I am pleased the injections are working. Harold is having them again in his other eye and there is a big improvement. I think he caught this one in time and that is why it is working so well. Also since he had his pace maker put in he is a new man, still can’t do any heavy lifting until he gets the go ahead from the hospital. Take care everyone xx.

Betty forgot to tell you that at the fete there was so much going on but Sam did go for a ride on a pony, and they also had a miniature steam train for the kids to go on which he did twice, bouncy castles, lots of animals for all the kids to stroke, ducks and chickens for sale together with their eggs, homemade cakes, coconut shies, and all sorts of things, so very traditional to our good old English fetes ! are you jealous or not !!!!

While we were away it was our daughter-in-laws school fete (she is a deputy head) and also our grandson’s school fete, both of which we missed and we always help out at them ! quite glad that we did miss them really as they are always so buzzy and John and I are definitely slowing down !!!!!!

There is an owl roosting in the nest box

Mick how very convenient for you to be able to have your eye jab so near to you and to hopefully be home by about 10 am will be great for you. Just hope that this will be a permanent place for you to go to – hey you can even do some shopping in Tesco if you fancy it !!!

Jan how could it rain come on Sunday when we were all having bbq’s !!!! but pleased to hear all went well for Hubby’s b’day celebrations ! Wells next the Sea is a lovely place we have been a few times and done most of the coastline there. My sister used to live in Bacton not far from the Gas Terminals she was right on the front and her back garden was the beach and the sea ! She loved it there and had moved from London when she retired and got so involved in village affairs and Richard her husband was the local Vicar but then they moved to just outside Loddon which is on the Norfolk Broads about 5 years ago where Richard took up another post and Shirley was so sad to have to move but she accepted it and would drive the 50 mile round trip to still go back when she could to see all her friends. Sadly during the bad storms last December when Norfolk took a battering her lovely house named Seabrink because that was where it was, sadly went into the sea and will never be rebuilt ! I am so glad that they weren’t living there and if she knew she would be absolutely devastated as she loved the house so very much ! So have a good break and enjoy yourselves

Karen I really don’t know what to say to you I am so surprised that the Consultant has said that to you but I suppose he knows what he is doing! Do you have to go back and see him again to see how you are getting on after you have been weaned off the pills ? I am sure that your surgery will ok the expensive pills for you, mine did when I needed some ! All you need is for your brain to relax as you are so pent up and worrying about everything ! I hope that your Daughter managed to go with you or a friend so that you weren’t on your own ? No wonder you feel like a zombie having no sleep, believe me anyone would ! Just take care and look after yourself and Fred ! but please keep in touch to let us know how you are ?

Now then Betty just because of what your sister told you doesn’t necessarily mean that your Daughter and grandchildren will necessarily have ovarian cancer when they are older ! You must wait and see what the Consultant tells you before you start worrying ! I am very sad for you about your Daughter cutting you off ! Our friend/neighbour has had the dame done to them by their Son and they have no idea where he is either ! So chin up my dear ! Oh by the way you can keep your heat !!!!

Off to look at the webcams now ! Have a good day everyone, if you can !!!!!!

Jenny x

Jenny would have loved to have come to the fete with you. I just love them and we don’t really have anything similar here. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday and birthday.
Mick that sounds very convenient for your eye appointment, who would have thought of eye surgery at Tesco’s!! My sister had a post surgery cataract check up in Boots by the travelling specialist. I guess it clears out the hospitals a bit.
Jan sounds like you are enjoying life to the full.
Karen I am so sorry to hear that you still aren’t sleeping. I know it is one of the worst things to go through. Hopefully your GP will arrange the funding for you. I will keep my fingers crossed!!
I am a little bit more nervous about my surgery now as I spoke with my sister in Watford. I knew she had uterine cancer and had a hysterectomy but she told me she also had ovarian cancer. She was lucky as she didn’t need any further treatment. She was diagnosed when my hubby was in having his transplant and I was calling her from the hospital so maybe I Misunderstood then and we haven’t really discussed it much since except in general terms.
If mine is diagnosed as malignant that will make it a strong family history. I have a daughter who has cut herself off from the family and she has 2 girls so I am more worried what it will mean to them rather than me.
Still 38 today but lovely and cool indoors. Is supposed to rain and storm tomorrow for the Canada Day celebrations in our village tomorrow. Betty Canada.

Jenny I went to see the specialist today he was a nice chap he informs me that I have personality disorder amongst other stuff s he is taking me off these pills slowly to be weaned of them and having a word with my GP to see if the budget for there surgery will allow the pills so they must be expensive well I said he had better do something he has ruined my life…. I am not sleeping Jenny its driving me crazy I went to bed Sunday morning at 9 only to have just dropped off and next doors did the hedges and woke me at 11 I haven’t slept since I am like zombie I will keep in touch thank you for asking xxxx hope you are all well Karen Stoke

Hi Jenny, belated Happy Birthday, glad you had a good drive to Portugal, holiday’s always go too fast, we had a barbecue on sunday as well, we put the gazebo up in record time as it never really stopped raining for long and only the youngsters were brave enough to eat outside as it did turn quite chilly. Hubby turns 60 tomorrow, then we are going to wells next the sea, north norfok coast for a couple of days, the forecast is good so hopefully will get some walking and birdwatching done 🙂

Jenny and Betty, My eyes appear to be getting better albeit very slowly, but my next one is going to be done at Tesco in Sandhurst on the new mobile unit which is just down the road for me and they said that they hope to do a turn around in one hour and as I have the first appointment of the day, I hope to be coming home at about 10 am even though it will be done mid week from now on.
I am glad you had a nice holiday Jenny even though it was soon over before you got started., still a good break..
Betty, I could not stick that temperature, its bad enough when the temperature gets up to 25 degrees for me as it has upset my diabetes quite a bit and possibly caused me to have quite a few heart flutters as well, but no pain.
I really hope that the doctors can help you sort out your problem and that you don’t have to wait to long for them to start.
Good luck to everyone that is suffering one way or another and hope you all get some sort of help soon,
Mick
