Wheres your Chickens Mister, Wheres your Chickens asked the Son of our new Holiday Guests that arrived today. We don’t have Chickens I replied. All Farms have Chickens Mister. Sorry we haven’t got any. Mum they ain’t got Chickens he screamed out. 6 year old Andrew looks as if he is going to be a handful.

Mind you he has put an idea in our minds that maybe it would be nice to have a few Chickens to supply us and maybe our Holiday Guests with Free Range Eggs. We did have Chickens when we first came to Denbury. We got them from a Battery Farm. They where quit a state when we collected them from the Farm. The very next day they produced eggs and did so for a long time. Cant even remember what happened to them. We also had a two Chickens, a Cockerel and some Silkies about ten years ago. Cant remember the name of Chickens they where, maybe Splash Orpingtons. They were large white Chickens with a black fleck. I remember what happened to them. Mr.Fox had them one afternoon.

We still have a Chicken Hutch that I made when we had the last Chickens. If we do decide to get a few, we will put the Hutch near the Cottages so that the Children who visit Denbury can get involved with feeding the Chicken and collecting the eggs. There is an Auction for Pure Bred Poultry this Saturday at our local Livestock Market. To late for Andrew.
