Denbury Farm a Tranquil Olde Worlde Farm Homestead, nestling in its own beautiful secluded Wooded Valley. With its Meandering Stream, Lakes and Pond it makes it a Secret Haven for an abundance of wonderful wildlife.
Red and Roe Deer are regular visitors and can often be seen on walks through our valley and ancient woodlands. Fox and Badgers live side by side very close to our holiday cottages.
We Have Barn Owls at Denbury Farm and they can be heard and seen hunting for food both in the day and night. Tawny Owls and the Little Owls live in our woods and make themselves heard of a nighttimes with their hooting and screeching whilst they hunt or calls to their mates..
The mating calls of the Cuckoo and our wonderful selection of bird life, to many and diverse to name make the waking mornings a delight with their dawn chorus. Greater Spotted and Green Woodpeckers, Tits. Bull Finch, Goldcrest, Yellow Hammer and so many more. We are so fortunate.
A walk through Denbury and Ash Woods our 30 acres of ancient woodlands is an adventure in itself. The wildlife you are hoping to see is probably keeping and eye on you watching you trespass on their territory. There are Quarries, Lime Kiln and Woodman’s Charcoal Kiln. Ash, Oak, Horse Chestnut and Beech and many other varieties ancient trees adorn our wonderful woodland.
Our Lakes are a home for Water Vole, Little Grebe and the Kingfisher can be seen diving for a feast. In the Spring Canadian Geese arrive honking as they fly in to nest and raise their Goslings. The Otter makes its way along our stream to try getting a tasty meal from the Lakes. We have to be vigilant to stop them.
