One of the pairs of Swans who flew off of the Lake were waiting by the feeding place when I went to feed the Swans this morning. I half expected it after seeing a pair flying above the Farm two nights ago but is was still a surprise. It does look very much as it is the breeding pair that last flew off a couple of weeks ago. How long and if they will stay we will have to wait and see.

Made a mistake in cutting the grass for hay. It bucketed down last evening and night and the laying grass is soaked through. Got to hope for wind, sun and no more rain.

5 More photographs from Lynne.

The Barn Owls have not taken any feed for the past three nights, or have we seen them even at the mobile aviary. We can only hope that they have found a safe refuge.

Pics from when I spent a few days with my friend in devon in october, this is the view from her back garden, the next one was a stall at the German Christmas market. Sarah.

View from Ullapool, looking towards the Summer Isles. Janice of Leeds.

There was a thin layer of ice on the Pond next to the Lake this morning. It has been very cold at Denbury for some weeks and I would have thought that we would have had a lot more than there has been. For the past two nights it has been bitter. Today up to late afternoon it was still very cold, but now it has warmed up and there is a little bit of drizzle. As long as it doesn’t rain we will be happy. We don’t really mind how cold it is as long as there is no rain.

There are five new photographs on the Photo page, starting from number eleven.

This is a photo of a cow peeping over the wall, i took near dove dale in the peak district about a week ago. Vicky, Derb

A nesting swan at Bosherton lakes in Pembrokeshire. Fir cones in a tree at Ladybower reservoir. Lynne.

Here’s a photo of Brimham Rocks. GJ.

The last photograph is what I thought was a Mill Stone that I wrote about in last nights Diary. On looking at it today, the first time in a few years, I am not to sure if it is a Mill Stone. I have only ever seen one Mill Stone, that was in a working Mill. If it is not I cant imagine what it is. Going by the Rabbit dropping in the middle it could be a soap box for the Rabbits, or maybe a wheel off of Fred Flintstones car.

Hello Mr Farmer, Elephant Hawk moth caterpillar, taken in my South Wales garden. Peacock, taken in the churchyard of the tiny church [St. David’s I think] on Caldey Island. Best wishes
Gillian.

Seagull taken from the boat on Lake Windemere it was flying alongside. Duck at Ladybower reservoir Lynne.

Mr Farmer, i caught this delightful scene of the swans on the Taunton Canal 2 yrs ago but on my camcorder, i have paused the tape and retook the photograph with a screen capture, but cant get them any clearer which is a shame . !!!! Marie.

Tonight looks the first time for a long while that the sky is clear. Depending on what time that we can see the Moon here, will make me decide if I will put the Astro webcams on. If it is much later than 8.30 it will not be worth it. I would have tried to look at Mars but I need to put another lens on the Telescope. Unfortunately I have not had the time to find it.

It is unbelievable how few clear nights that we have had over the past few months. A few late afternoons have looked promising, but soon turned into cloudy and rainy nights. At the moment there is not a cloud in the Sky. The clear sky has kept it quite light. When I went to feed the Badgers at 5.30pm I was able to see my way without a torch. I will from next week start to feed them 10 minutes later.
